Audi proclaimed its R8 LMX to be world’s first car with laser high beams

Audi and BMW have always been into healthy rivalry which fortunately led them both to come up with marvelous cars that awed the world for so many years. As BMW announced its i8 to be the first production with laser headlamps, Audi took it to another level with its R8 LMX to be the “world’s first production car with laser high beams” and it’s not over yet, R8 is powered by a mighty V10 engine too.

The vision and efficiency is greatly increased by the use of four high power laser diodes in new technology which emits similar white light as many LEDs. As the R8 LMX gets to 37.3 miles per hour, it starts emitting light and the most wonderful feature is its ability to adjust the light patterns according to the oncoming traffic to facilitate the other drivers on the road.

It’s not just the laser light that makes the LMX a unique vehicle, the newly designed body kit is a work of art itself as it ranges from an Ara Blue exterior to some carbon fibre aerodynamics and the most beautiful rear wing. R8 LMX also comes with specially built ceramic brake discs with state of the art 19-inch alloy wheels.

Apart from the most beautiful and bright headlamps, aerodynamic body and wonderful paint job makes it more appealing, this car has a monstrous 5.2 litre V10 engine throwing down 570 horsepower to all of its four wheels via a seven-speed S-tronic transmission enabling R8 to do a 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds until it reaches the top speed of 199 mph.
