Nurburgring for years, has been used to check the limits of vehicles but now automakers are banned from attempting lap records

When it comes to speed, the measuring stick used is, Nurburgring. Any vehicle having the quickest round time was honoured in the industry with the badge of being the fastest, and this badge also holds some serious weight in the general public view.

Unfortunately, that speed measuring stick has been taken away with an imposed ban on the speeding at Nurburgring. It has been reported by J.F. Musial that automakers will no longer be able to attempt any further speed lap record at the track.

Now you will definitely be thinking of who this J.F. Musial is and how authentic its report is? Isn’t it?

Musial is one of the team members who prepared the documentary “Apex” The Story of the Hypercar. The documentary was based on the Koenigsegg One:1 when it was attempting the Nurburgring lap record. They were informed at the track by the management of Nurburgring that timed laps were banned on the track.

The documentary team then tried to rent the track for the speeding but that was again vetoed by the management.  All this drama was created after the tragic crash of Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 during the VLN endurance race.

A spectator was also killed in this crash. This was the moment that sparked an uptick in enforcement of speed limits around the most parts of the track.

It doesn’t mean that all kind of speeding has been banned on the track, automakers can still run around the track but they should follow the speed limits at the track. It is very clear that these speed limits will break the speed of the vehicles and will not let any driver make record ever again.

Musial said that the instruction given by the Nurburgring management will be reviewed soon as the ring is under private control till the end of this year.
