Koenigsegg, the Swedish supercar manufacturer, has earned a reputation of producing extremely powerful cars. Some of these cars have claimed the title of \u201cWorld\u2019s Fastest Car<\/a><\/strong>\u201d and some, \u201cWorld\u2019s Most Expensive Car.\u201d The wildest creation of them all, the Koenigsegg Regera, will soon hit the market.<\/p>\n

What is this Koenigsegg Regera?<\/h2>\n

Introduced at this year\u2019s Geneva Motor Show, Koenigsegg\u2019s most insane creation, Regera, has just been given a release date and a price tag. This Megacar is powered by a 5.0-litre V8 twin-turbocharged engine<\/a><\/strong> and an electric motor, combined, producing 1,500 horses and 1,475 lb-ft of torque.<\/p>\n

With all this power under 20 seconds, Regera can accelerate to 250 mph. It has not been officially confirmed that how long will it take for a 0-60 mph sprint, but we are sure it will be under 3 seconds. Koenigsegg is claiming that Regera is the fastest accelerating and the most powerful production car ever made by anyone in the world.<\/p>\n

As compared to other supercars, where does it stand?<\/h2>\n

Just to make the point, we take examples of other supercars<\/a><\/strong>, like the Hennessey Venom GT tops out at 270 mph with its twin-turbocharged LS7 V8 engine. Once world\u2019s fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport hits 269 mph with its quad-turbo W16, and the Koenigsegg Agera R tops out at 260 mph.<\/p>\n

Now if we look at those mighty 1,500 horses whatRegera is offering, we could imagine it doing nothing less than 280 mph.<\/p>\n

How Koenigsegg keeps itself distinct from others?<\/h2>\n

Mechanics is what makes all the difference, when we talk about Koenigsegg. Electric-only power is gained from electric drivetrain and they managed to keep the weight to just 3,600 pounds by extensively using lightweight materials. Koenigsegg has introduced \u201cDirectDrive\u201d system which uses torque vectoring, regenerative braking system when its three electric motors work harmoniously. This system is going to replace the conventional gearbox.<\/p>\n
