These buses will be powered by <a title=\"BioGas\" href=\"http:\/\/www.biogas-info.co.uk\/biomethane-as-a-transport-fuel.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>biomethane gas<\/strong><\/a>; the Bio-Bus will collect waste from more than 32,000 households along its 15-mile route.<\/p>\n<p>It is operated by First West of England and will fill up at a site in Avonmouth; Bristol where sewage and inedible food waste is turned into biomethane gas to be <a title=\"Reconditioned engines\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reconditionengines.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>used as engine<\/strong><\/a> fuel. The \u201cpoo-bus\u201d can seat up to 40 people was unveiled last autumn. It will get a first show in Bristol on Tuesday before full service starts from 25<sup>th<\/sup> March for four days a week.<\/p>\n<p>First will consider launching more \u201cpoo-buses\u201d if the <a title=\"20 MPH for major UK roads after Bristol\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reconditionengines.co.uk\/blog\/london-mayor-announces-20mph-zones-major-roads\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>scheme is successful<\/strong><\/a>. Its director, James Freeman, said: \u201cSince its original unveiling last year, the Bio-Bus has generated worldwide attention and so it\u2019s our great privilege to bring it to the city.<\/p>\n<p>If the scheme is successful, First will consider introducing more \u201cpoo-buses\u201d.
