The new rules will apply to cars parked in pay-and-display bays or other spaces with time limits.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"UK Govt Bans CCTV Camera Cars\" href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/government-bans-use-of-cctv-spy-cars-for-on-street-parking\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>CCTV camera cars<\/strong><\/a> that automatically issue parking fines are to be made illegal, except near schools, in bus lanes and on red routes.<\/p>\n<p>The Local Government and Communities Secretary Eric Pickles and Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said <a title=\"DartFord crossing, pay dartcharg online\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reconditionengines.co.uk\/blog\/toll-booths-dartford-crossing-motorists-pay-dart-charge-online\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>\u2018war on the motorist must end\u2019<\/strong><\/a>. The ministers said in a joint statement: \u2018Local residents and businesses will be able to demand a review of parking in their area, including charges and the use of yellow lines. Parking adjudicators will be able to hold councils to account so they can look to change signs and stop charging fines in areas where parking tickets keep being issued.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We are bringing back common sense.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Very soon shoppers and drivers will also benefit from ten minute \u201cgrace periods\u201d for council-controlled parking, whether it\u2019s on or off-street, paid or free. It means you won\u2019t get fined for being a few minutes late.
