Nissan Smart View Technology

As the use of rear view cameras sky-rocketed, Nissan made it even more fun

Ever since the rear view cameras been installed in the vehicles, it made driving in reverse much safer and way easier than conventional turn around and look-back approach. Drivers are getting so used to them that by May 2018, it will be required on all new vehicles.

While driving in reverse, you need to look at the display screen, that’s how it is been done from beginning. Those days are gone as Nissan has taken the things to a whole new level by using rear view mirror as the camera screen. This technology is named “Smart Rear View Mirror” which looks like our standard mirror but turns into a display and gives much clearer rear view when a switch is flipped. The camera is placed in the rear windshield.

Isn’t it fantastic that all the hustle of seeing past headrest, tall passengers at the back seat or even the piles of suitcases, is gone. What more would you want when you know this mirror does work as ordinary one if somehow the camera fails to work or if the driver chooses to go old school. It is highly unlikely not to use it once you benefit from the LCD screen mode.

Nissan has unveiled this “Smart Rear View Mirror” in the U.S. at the New York Auto Show where it received a lot of praise.
